In a third scam in as many weeks, Task Informatics Pvt. Ltd, a software and web-applications company operating out of Madhapur, shut shop without paying salaries of its 150 employees. Around a dozen employees of the company lodged a complaint with the Madhapur police station on Sunday after their salaries had been withheld for three months and the company had shut down without notice

“A complaint under IPC Section 420 has been lodged. The proprietors of the company are missing. We are investigating the case,” said investigating officer P. Srinivas. The proprietors of the company are Sheikh Ali Shah, Saleem Baba, Suresh and Praveen. Likewise, proprietors of two other sham companies, Prodigy Solutions and Tamcos Technologies, also operating out of Madhapur, went missing before bringing down the shutters. The CEO of Prodigy Solutions, Murali Radhakrishna, is still missing.

Prodigy Solutions had duped around 1,500 employees of their deposit money and over 30,000 employees in its branches in Vijayawada and Warangal. Tamcos Technologies which wrapped up operations within four months of starting operations, handed settlement cheques to employees that later bounced. The proprietors could not be traced. “The company could not sustain itself as it was running a single BPO and could not generate enough profits and decided to wrap up operations,” said the officer investigating the case.
