IT giant Mahindra Satyam has begun a countrywide crackdown on around 21,000 employees, who allegedly used fraudulent means to get employment in the company.

While at present six FIRs have been filed by the company officials, another six fraud cases will be lodged with the city police soon.

The company officials are, meanwhile, focusing on employees who joined the firm in the last six to eight months.

“We have begun a process of validation after a few whistleblowers pointed out employees who may have obtained fake salary or experience certificates. We are still verifying information but roughly two to three per cent of the employees who recently joined the firm may have used fraudulent methods,” said Mr Hari T., a Mahindra Satyam official.
