Andhra Bank, formed in 1923 is one of the leading public sector banks in India.With headquarters in Hyderabad,the bank operates across 20 states with 1300 branches & has over 13000 employees. As part of recruitment project 2011, Andhra bank is inviting online applications for Clerks & Probationary Officers.
Post – Vacancies – Payscale:
1) Probationary Officers – 450 posts – Rs.14500/–/25700
2) Clerks - 1000 posts - Rs.7200/–/19300

Eligibility: Those looking to apply for PO in Andhra bank,
* Should be 21 – 30yrs of age, as on 31.12.2010
* 1st class in Graduation with minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA
* Must have studied computer science (if not, certificate from recog. institute needed)


Clerk posts:
* Agelimit of 18 – 28yrs as on 31.12.2010
* Degree in any discipline OR pass in HSC exam(12th) with 60%, as on 31.12.2010
* Able to read, write & speak the language of the state applying for
* Certificate in computers is required [not for those studies computer subject]

Selection: Written test (Objective & Descriptive) & Interview will be conducted as part of selection process for Andhra Bank Clerk & PO recruitment.Although Descriptive Test is for qualifying, candidates must secure 40% average in objective tests which also has negative marks for wrong answers.


Application: Rs.400 (Gen/OBC) for PO & Rs.250 (Gen/OBC) or Rs.75(SC/ST) to be paid using the fee challan at any branch of Andhra Bank.After obtaining payment receipt, application given at www.andhrabank.com must be submitted online.Although printout should not be sent by post, printout can be taken for reference purposes.

Eligibility Doubts :


Q: What are the education qualifications for this Andhra bank PO recruitment 2011?
A: For clerk posts, Graduation (any discipline) or 12th std. with 60% (1st class) & for PO – 1st class degree with 60% marks is necessary.You must possess the above as on 31.12.2010

Q: I have 50% in UG & 70% in PG.Am I eligible for PO post?
A : Even though you have scored 70% in PG, it is required to have 60% marks in UG degree.Hence you are not eligible to apply.

Q: Is certificate in computers compulsory for all?
A: It is not compulsory & only those who have not studied computers in school/college level should provide computer course Certificate, issued by a recog. institute, during Interview.

Q: Can final semester students apply?
A: Andhra bank has mentioned that candidates applying for the recruitment should have the necessary criteria as on 31.12.2010.Hence students in final sem/year or waiting for results are not eligible to apply.

Q: Can I apply for Probationary officer & Clerk positions?
A: If you fulfill the eligibility conditions – you can apply for both by paying fees & sending application for each post separately.

Q: I have made a mistake while applying online.How to change?
A: Incase of any changes to made in online application, applicants can modify after 2 days of registration upto Feb 24, 2011.


Q: When will I get exam call letters?
A: The written test of Andhra bank is on May 8 (PO) & May 15 (clerk).Hence, eligible candidates would receive the call letters by post by May 3, 2011 & facility to download call letters from the website will also be available.
